ALL BIRDCAGE CDs

ACID BRAN*ACID BRAN (Birdcage Records 1996) Hard rocking New Hampshire band signed to Birdcage after appearing with Dread Zeppelin in the film, "National Lampoon's Last Resort." Produced by T-Bone Wolk (Hall & Oates, Saturday Night Live Band) and mixed by Dread Zeppelin's Jah Paul Jo & Rasta Li-Mon.

RON ASHETON*RON ASHETON & THE EMPTY SET Thin, Slim & None/Flunkie (Birdcage Records 1996) a gem of a rock & roll CD. It features a killer band, The Empty Set, which features founding Stooge guitar god Ron Asheton, along with Billy Frank of Destroy All Monsters and Ron Devore. They put their twist on a few Stooges faves like "TV Eye" and "1969," but there's plenty of smokin' originals featuring killer vox by Devore. The last six cuts were recorded live at LA's Coconut Teaszer and it's pure blissful chaos.

A THOUSAND OTHER NAMES*A THOUSAND OTHER NAMES (Birdcage Records 1996) G.E. Stinson, guitarist of the internationally acclaimed, grammy-award winning world music/fusion band, SHADOWFAX, takes his six-string muse to another level. Also features guitarist Nels Cline (The Geraldine Fibbers, Thurston Moore, Banyon), Brad Dutz & Japanese vocalist, Kaoru.

DREAD ZEPPELIN The First No Elvis*DREAD ZEPPELIN The First No Elvis (Birdcage Records 1995) Started as a fan-club-only release, here is the meaning of Christmas according to Dread Zeppelin. Features "All I Want For Chistmas Is My Two Front Teeth" (Where Tortelvis gives away 2 pink Cadillacs!) and an extended Kashmir (Alien Invasion Mix).

DREAD ZEPPELIN Hot & Spicy Beanburger*DREAD ZEPPELIN Hot & Spicy Beanburger (Birdcage Records 1993) After their Disco Debacle of 1992, "It's Not Unusual," the original Dread Zeppelin reformed at the personal behest of Michael Hutchence and INXS for a US tour and recorded "Hot & Spicy Beanburger. HSBB features "Good Times, Bad Times, "Hot Dog," "Kashmir" and expands the DZ myth with their composition "The Ballad Of Charlie Haj."

DREAD ZEPPELIN No Quarter Pounder*DREAD ZEPPELIN No Quarter Pounder (Birdcage Records 1996) Originally called "Un Led ED Part 2" (The album even opens with an edited cut from that album), NQP found DZ right back where they started: "Zeppelin Inna Reggae Style." Features "Ramble On," "What Is and What Should Never Be" and a bizarre take on The King's "Viva Las Vegas." And what if Michael Jackson & Lisa Marie would have had a baby? "Little Baby Elvis Jackson!"

DREAD ZEPPELIN The Song Remains Insane*DREAD ZEPPELIN The Song Remains Insane (TWA Australia 1998 - 2 CD Set) Live double CD released by now-defunct Australian label, TWA. Produced by Jah Paul Jo & Rasta Li-Mon, this is the official live document of the original Dread Zeppelin. Mostly recorded in 1991 in Paris, London, Tokyo & Las Vegas, "Insane..." features songs from "Un Led ED" & "5,000,000" albums.

DREAD ZEPPELIN Ruins*DREAD ZEPPELIN Ruins (Birdcage Records 1994) Here, for the first time collected on one CD, are the b-sides and unreleased tracks created by the one, the only, ORIGINAL Dread Zeppelin. This disc, along with the brand new Live Double CD, THE SONG REMAINS INSANE, tells the story of the band that put music back 20 years... and in the process, made it OK to have fun again. Features guest appearances by Screamin Jay Hawkins and Randy Bachman. Enjoy!

ED'S TOO SHORT Everything's Small*ED'S TOO SHORT Everything's Small (Birdcage 1996) Heavy folk alternative by LA band, Ed's Too Short. Produced by Dread Zeppelin's Jah Paul Jo & Rasta Li-Mon and features a guest harmonica performance by Stan Ridgway.

GHOSTHOUSE Thing Called Life*GHOSTHOUSE Thing Called Life (Birdcage 1996) Psychedelia from former members of Rain Parade, Green on Red and Steve Wynn of The Dream Syndicate, Ghosthouse showcases the best of LA's infamous "Paisley Underground." Features "The Part I'm Playing," "Confessions Of A Killer," and a previously unreleased song by Dream Syndicate's Steve Wynn, "Black Magic."

HECATE'S ANGELS Hidden Persuader*HECATE'S ANGELS Hidden Persuader (Birdcage 1996) A founding member of Stan Ridgway's Drywall and longtime partner of Ridgway's, this is vocalist, keyboard & Theramin player, Pietra Wexstun's first solo. With help from Ridgway and co-production by Jim Hill (First Wall Of Voodoo EP & album), Hidden Persuader is an excursion into uncharted ambient psychedelic territories.

IN VIVO*IN VIVO (Birdcage 1996) Australian duo Fiona Lee Maynard and James Lomas along with production, singing and playing help from Concrete Blonde's Johnette Napolitano, makes up In Vivo. Great heavy pop which will surely appeal to fans of Concrete Blonde.

MYSTERY BAND Insert Title Here*MYSTERY BAND Insert Title Here (Birdcage 1996) A full-on celebration of "The Weird." The Mystery Band are made up of former members of both Captain Beefheart's Magic Band and punk legends, The Child Molesters. Their pedigree presents as much a conundrum as do the 21 other "Little Mysteries" (songs) contained.

STAN RIDGWAY Black Diamond*STAN RIDGWAY Black Diamond (Birdcage 1996) The internationally acclaimed songwriter and singer/mastermind of the original WALL OF VOODOO, returns to release his fourth full-length solo album, Black Diamond. Review: "Black Diamond is Ridgway's best album in years, and it hits extremes of both detachment and passion that make it a career milestone."
